“A truly rich man is one whose children run into his arms when his hands are empty.” –Author Unknown
Father’s Day is quickly approaching, falling on Sunday, June 16 this year. If you’re still scratching your head about what to get the special man in your life, whatever you do, don’t buy that tie! Doesn’t the idea of another simple gift wrapped in tissue paper or brunch sound somewhat overdone and boring? Honor the father in your life with something a little different this June – a Father’s Day running or walking event. Not only will you mix up the “same ol’ routine” while keeping his body in good health, but you will also be giving him that quality time with loved ones he truly desires. Considering the buildup to such an event provides the opportunity to train and prepare together, you can give him that extra special attention to show him you care. Below are some active events taking place nationwide in June; visit www.active.com to find more.

Healthy gifts are truly the gifts that keep on giving. According to the Mayo Clinic, the biggest threats to men’s health, e.g., heart disease, stroke and diabetes, are often preventable. Helping dad to stay healthy and enjoy many more Father’s Days will make participating in these fun, active events together extra special.
